Sotogrande

Sotogrande Travel Guide

Sotogrande is a beautiful harbour town to the west of Marbella and just before Gibraltar. This small farmland area in the municipality of San Roque has grown into one of the Europe’s most discreet centers of luxury living, resembling a smaller version of Beverly Hills.

Sotogrande has one of the most glamorous harbours on the Costa del Sol. With the space for more than 500 vessels to dock, the harbour features a selection of excellent restaurants, vibrant tapas bars and elegant residences, ensuring a stylish and fun lifestyle.

Tip: Those looking for a bit of an adventure, can take a ferry to the Moroccan harbour of Tangier departing from Algeciras that is situated less than a half-hour driving from the center of Sotogrande.

Sotogrande’s sports agenda is always well stocked. It is the center of international polo and golf competitions. With four of the finest golf clubs in Europe, including the famous Valderrama, home of the 1997 Ryder Cup and the annual Volvo Masters tournament, Sotogrande is also home to the Valderrama and San Roque equestrian centers, both of which offer horseback riding and horse jumping lessons for both beginning and advanced riders.

For the sea lovers, in addition to the dolphin watching, there is an abundance of water sport opportunities, including jet skiing, sailing and windsurfing.
